    ISM 3004 Computing in the Business Environment
    Credits: 4; Prereq: basic skills for Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet.
    Presents fundamental concepts from two perspectives - that of the individual business computer user and the corporate business computing environment. Students will become familiar with common business computing applications; it is not a hands on applications training course. Students will use their existing computer skills to complete assignments.
    ISM 3013 Introduction to Information Systems
    Credits: 4; Prereq: MAC 2311 or MAC 2233, and sophomore standing.
    Introduction to the role of information systems and technology in an organization with a focus on the use of Access and Excel to solve business problems. Students gain the knowledge necessary to earn Microsoft certifications in Access and Excel.
    ISM 3254 Business Systems 1
    Credits: 2.
    This course introduces the basic tools for building business systems using object-oriented and event-driven programming paradigms. Emphasis will be placed on using Java to illustrate these ideas.
    ISM 3255 Business Systems 2
    Credits: 2; Prereq: ISM 3254.
    This course continues developing the basic tools for building business systems using object-oriented and event-driven programming paradigms. Emphasis will be placed on using C# to illustrate these ideas.
    ISM 4113 Business Systems Design and Applications
    Credits: 2.
    Conceptual foundations of the process, data and object oriented approaches for the analysis and design of business systems. Systems development life cycle, rapid application design, CASE tools also covered.
    ISM 4210 Database Management
    Credits: 2; Prereq: ISM 4113.
    This is an introductory course on database management. Topics covered include various stages in a database development process such as conceptual, logical, application, and physical design.
    ISM 4220 Business Data Communications 1
    Credits: 2.
    This course focuses on various aspects of telecommunication systems, the use of local and wide area networks, the internet, wireless technologies and distributed systems for decision making and strategic management questions relating to business goals, long-range planning and budgeting.
    ISM 4221 Business Data Communications 2
    Credits: 2; Prereq: ISM 4220.
    This course will help students gain insights into network security. The students will be exposed to various security algorithms and techniques. There will be hands-on experience with projects and homework assignments.
    ISM 4330 Information Systems and Operations Strategy
    Credits: 2: Prereq: ISM 4113; ISM 4210 and ISM 4220.
    Policy and management issues surrounding information systems and operations management in today's enterprises.
    ISM 4930 Special Topics in Information Systems
    Credits: 1 to 4; can be repeated with a change of content up to 8 credits. Prereq: department permission.
    Variable content course providing an opportunity for in depth study of topics not offered in other courses and of topics of special current significance.
    MAN 4504 Operations and Supply Chain Management
    Credits: 4; Prereq: MAC 2233, STA 2023, BUL 4310, FIN 3403, GEB 3373, MAN 3025, MAR 3023 and QMB 3250. B.A. and A.C. majors only.
    Managerial concepts and quantitative tools required in the design, operation, and control of production systems and their relationship to business functions.
    MAN 4538 Integrated Product and Process Design 1
    Credits: 3; Prereq: senior standing.
    The first part of a two-course sequence in which multi disciplinary teams of engineering and business students partner with industry sponsors to design and build authentic products and processes-on time and within budget. Working closely with industry liaison engineers and a faculty coach, students gain practical experience in teamwork and communication, problem solving and engineering design, and develop leadership, management and people skills.

    Credits: 3; Prereq: MAN 4538.
    Second part of MAN 4538-4539 sequence.
    MAN 4583 Project Management
    Credits: 2; Prereq: ISM 3254.
    The basic principles, organizational issues and tools of project management. Project organization, project selection, planning, scheduling, monitoring, earned value analysis and resource management.
    QMB 3250 Statistics for Business Decisions
    Credits: 4; Prereq: STA 2023. Open only to students who need this course for their major or have permission from the WCBA.
    Correlation and linear regression, model building, multiple regression, analysis of variance, time series analysis and decision analysis. Regression modeling with computer applications for business problems.
    QMB 4701 Managerial Operations Analysis 1
    Credits: 2; Prereq: MAC 2233 and STA 2023.
    This course provides an introduction to the concepts and applications of Management Science. As a result, students will become more confident in understanding and using deterministic analytic models.
    QMB 4702 Managerial Operations Analysis 2
    Credits: 2; Prereq: QMB 4701.
    This course provides an overview of stochastic applications of Management Science. Students will learn stochastic modeling techniques and introductory visual basic.
    QMB 4905 Individual Work in Information Systems and Operations Management
    Credits: 1 to 5; can be repeated with change in content up to 5 credits. Prereq: senior standing and department permission.
    Reading and/or research in information systems and operations management. A written report is required.
    QMB 4930 Special Topics in Operations Analysis/Quantitative Methods
    Credits: 1 to 4; can be repeated with change in content up to 8 credits; Prereq: department permission.
    Variable content course providing an opportunity for in depth study of topics not offered in other courses and of topics of special current significance.
    QMB 4941 Internship in Information Systems and Operations Management
    Credits: 1 to 3; can be repeated with change in content up to 6 credits. Prereq: consent of department chair.
    Applied work in information systems and operations management. Requires several papers and reports. Will be counted as free-elective credit only. (S-U)
    QMB 4956 International Studies in Quantitative Methods
    Credits: 1 to 4; can be repeated with a change in content up to 12 credits. Admission to an approved study abroad program and department permission.
    This course permits formal coursework taken at a foreign university as part of an approved study abroad program to be recorded on the transcript and counted toward graduation.
    QMB 4970 Honors Thesis
    Credits: 1; Prereq: 90 hours earned and 3.6 UF GPA.
    A thesis is required for award of magna cum laude or summa cum laude designations. To qualify, students normally have completed 90 semester hours of coursework (exceptions may be made) and must have at least a 3.6 GPA at the time they enroll. The thesis will be reviewed by at least one faculty member chosen by the honors coordinator for the student's major department. (S-U)
