Pest Control Technology Certificate

Hours: 24 credits with minimum grades of C

The certificate program in pest control technology will be awarded upon completion of specific coursework in entomology and pest management that satisfies the academic requirements of Florida state statute 482, which requires 24 semester hours plus one year of employment to qualify to take the Florida Pest Control Operator's license examination.

There are no prerequisite courses, but students are advised to remember the requirement of a year's employment to qualify to take the licensing exam.

• ENY 4228 Urban Pesticide Application (3)
• IPM 3022 Fundamentals of Pest Management (3)
• IPM 4254 Landscape IPM: Ornamentals and Turf (3)
• Select remaining 15 credits from additional courses listed in the urban pest management and landscape pest management certificate programs.
