Music Theory Minor
Hours: 21 credits, completed with minimum grades of C
The minor in music theory does not require an audition, but a background in music is recommended. A theory placement exam is required to determine the appropriate level of theory.
A minimum of nine hours at the 3000 level or above must count toward the minor and at least 12 hours of coursework must be completed at UF. Students interested in composition can also take MUC 1211 and MUC 1212, Composition Skills 1 and 2, to add a composition component to the minor.
Students should contact the undergraduate adviser before enrolling in coursework.
