  • East-Central European Studies

Credits: 18-22, completed with minimum grades of C

The East-Central European studies minor enables students to incorporate both area and language studies from an interdisciplinary perspective. It enhances language proficiency and provides an organized course of study for less commonly taught languages, such as Czech, Hungarian and Polish, that do not offer stand-alone majors and where two semesters of study are not sufficient.

The curriculum requires two semesters of a language beyond the CLAS language requirement, one East-Central European studies course and three electives from an approved list.

Of the total credits, no more than three may be individual work. Students must complete a minimum of six credits of coursework exclusive to the minor that cannot count toward the major(s) or other minors.

The minor is open to all UF undergraduates.
