    The College of Nursing is recognized nationally and internationally for innovative education, dynamic programs of research and creative approaches to practice. Gator Nurses are prepared for leadership as clinicians, scientists and educators who reflect and care for a diverse society; foster interdisciplinary collaboration; and improve the health of individuals, families and communities.

    Overview

    Established: 1956

    Accredited: Degree programs approved by the Florida State Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

    Academic Advising: Students interested in a career in nursing should contact the Office of Student Affairs for advising before they submit an application for admission.

    Computer Requirement: General UF requirements

    Degrees: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with three track options: generic, accelerated, and RN-BSN. The college also offers a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in nursing science.

    Training Opportunities: The colleges of the Health Science Center and their associated healthcare delivery networks provide students access to an integrated system of community hospitals and clinics, statewide home health care, a veterans’ health system and quaternary care at UF Health Shands Hospital. The College of Nursing maintains and participates in nursing and interdisciplinary care across the lifespan including women, children, adults and the elderly with special emphasis on under-served and rural populations.
