Meteorology and Climatology

The Meteorology and Climatology certificate provides a working knowledge of atmospheric processes across spatial and temporal scales. This certificate is applicable to many disciplines in the physical sciences and enables students to supplement their majors with an understanding and awareness of the societal impacts of natural hazards and climate change.

About this Program

Certificates must contain at least nine credits of coursework that are unique to that program out of all other certificates and minors.

The Geography Department offers a range of topics in contemporary geography and geospatial science, rich and lively cultural and learning environments, BA and BS undergraduate degrees, MA, M.S., and PhD degrees, as well as the largest Medical Geography program in the United States.

Non-native transfer credit may be approved by department for the introductory level, 3 credit requirement. Only UF or SUS-offered intermediate or elective courses can satisfy those requirements. The course that satisfies the advanced course requirement must be taken at UF.
