HSC 4643 Access and Rehabilitation in Serving Vulnerable Populations 3 Credits

Trace the interplay of social movements and federal law designed to improve the participation of people with disabilities in society. This course imparts understanding of legislation about vulnerable citizens. Knowledge gained can be used to critique policies for vulnerable populations.
Prerequisite: HSC 3502 and HSC 4558 or approval of instructor.
OTH 3282 Multicultural Perspectives on Participation and Health 3 Credits
Grading Scheme: Letter Grade
The influence of participation in life’s’ activities (i.e., self-care, work, play school, etc.) and its impact on health of persons with and without disabilities across cultures will be analyzed throughout the lifespan. . A small group project with students from another country will enhance multicultural perspective and cultural competency.
Prerequisite: PSY 2012 or instructor permission. Junior standing or higher recommended.

Biomechanics of movement, palpation, goniometry, manual muscle testing and motion analysis for occupational therapy.

Intensive laboratory study of the human musculoskeletal system.
